One thing about Chicago is that over the years it is steadily improving its effort to be a green city and to push the boundaries of architecture. Each year they have an art installment along Michigan Ave, this year it’s K9 dogs for cops, they are big statues of German Shepards which serves as a fundraiser for Chicago PAWS and for the memory of the officers who have passed.
The statues above are one of my favorites that they had so far. The Giant Chia Pet head statues were all along Michigan Ave, I thought it was a really creative way to encourage people to get more in the “go green” spirit. And let’s be honest who doesn’t love to view a huge beautiful floral arrangement when going to work, home or just a casual stroll downtown.
Chicago has also added whimsical statues at the parks along the lakefront, they give a really great look and feel, it’s amazing how something so simple can really transform the city. During the summer Chicago has a lot of great installments to see, so the next time your there, make sure to have your camera ready 🙂
Have a great week!
xoxo
